Throughout all of human history, plants have been the primary source of medicine to people across the globe. Even today the majority of countries rely on herbs as their primary source of medication. The term herb is thousands of years, in Europe and the Mediterranean, coming from the Latin term herba. Herbology, from Greek words about herbs, is the study of those plants considered to be herbs. Historically, the term herb was restricted to non-woody plants, but modern use is for any medicinal part of the plant.
